High Risk Decontamination

High Risk Decontamination

Fentanyl and Xylazine remediation. Emergency response 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. FES holds Bio Risk Level 5 — the highest certification available for high-risk decontamination, well above the base IICRC Trauma and Crime Scene Cleaning certification.

Overview

Franklin Environmental Services holds the highest certification available for high-risk decontamination. The common substances that qualify for this level of expertise are Fentanyl, Xylazine and Methamphetamine. We can also effectively neutralize certain bloodborne pathogens that are extremely dangerous and contagious — biological viruses and bacteria such as Anthrax, HIV, COVID and C-Diff require disinfection rather than decontamination, and the proper process and chemicals are critical. The technique, equipment and chemical application have to be synchronized; one without the other is not effective. You do not want an inexperienced cleaner to attempt these jobs — you will not know if it has actually been deactivated or decontaminated. FES is your local trained and prepared forensic restoration company. Ask us about our Microbial Warrior certifications and the products we use, and why.

Why It Matters

The Stakes Are Higher Than Most Homeowners Realize

Cross-contamination can occur up to 72 sq ft from the site of contamination — anyone disrupting the area can track it throughout a home or building.

Flies and rodents act as vectors after an unattended death, spreading contamination throughout a structure.

Bleach does NOT kill everything — over-the-counter bleach will not decontaminate Fentanyl, Xylazine, Meth, or hazardous pathogens.

The 'kill log' (contact time + chemical effectiveness) must be exact — improper timing means pathogens aren't actually neutralized.

A human body begins decomposition just minutes after death and contains over 1 gallon of blood.

Certified above the base IICRC Trauma and Crime Scene Cleaning standard.
